If your are still using the MinGW and gdb 6.7 from 8. m32 is for 32-bit compilation and -m64 is for compiling 64-bit programs. However, a switch is require to be placed in the 'Other options' sub-tab beneath 'Compiler settings'. Both 圆4 and x86 compilation will use the same executables. Please comment below and I’ll be glad to help you out. Note: This should no longer be the case with Code::Blocks rev>10920. Re: Setting up Code::Blocks for use with MinGW-64.

Setting up Code::Blocks on Windows By Thomas Carriero This tutorial gives you easy-to-follow instructions, with screenshots, for setting up a compiler (the MINGW compiler), a tool that will let you turn the code that you write into programs, and Code::Blocks, a free development environment for C and C++. It has a fast, customized construction system that doesn't require makefiles, and allows you to perform parallel constructions on systems with a multi-core CPU.Ĭode Block's debugger supports the application of breakpoints on the source code, or on the data that the program handles, as well as the establishment of conditions and counters for said breakpoints. Some versions of the Code::Blocks installer include MinGW and others dont, so be careful to choose the right one. The default compiler that this Code Blocks packet comes with is MinGW.Ĭode Blocks' functionality can be expanded by using plugins. An easy way to install MinGW (and hence gcc / g++) on Windows is to install the Code::Blocks integrated development environement (IDE). It is an open-source, integrated, cross-platform development environment that supports the use of multiple compilers, such as: GCC (MingW/GNU GCC), MSVC, Digital Mars, Borland C++ 5.5, and Open Watcom. Code Blocks is an excellent option for programming in C++.
